So, you know you should visit your dentist at least every 6 months for dental cleaning and checkups. You should brush your teeth after every meal and floss at least once daily. Here are a few more things you need to know.

Limit between meal snacking ‘ especially sugar and acid based food.

Get your fill of fluoride. Use a toothpaste with fluoride, and if you have fluoridated water in your municapal water supply, drink lots of tap water. Tap water beats our bottled water when it comes to your teeth!

QUIT SMOKING!!! Smoking greatly increases the chances of gum disease. So keep in mind, that if you have both gum disease and smoke cigarettes, over the chance of your lifetime you can keep one or the other, but you can’t keep both.
